Strains of Landrace Cannabis

For the last decade or so, cannabis went from being a drug that people thought was illicit, to an industry that’s booming, making billions of dollars. In the past, the consumption, holding onto, and even the growth of cannabis and hemp actually led to jail time, and major consequences. As legalization continues to move forward, things are finally getting better. Over 36 states are allowing medical usage of cannabis, and 16 of them offering adult use that’s legalized, and more and more dispensaries are making packaged items that are slowly the new normal.

With legality continuing to be a big part of this, there is now new changes to the industry. Cannabis infusion, especially in food and drink, different cosmetics and beauty products, you don’t have to just light a bowl and smoke some flower.

The industry progress is quite remarkable, and there is a lot of different strains are different from the original landrace kinds that were out there. While all cannabis can be traced back to the Hindu area of Pakistan and Afghanistan, they’ve made major changes, especially from migration and trading, and t’s become a super versatile item to grow, and it’s adapted to many different climates too, with the cannabis landrace strains being some of the first cannabis to be grown in multiple parts of our world.

Sativa origins

This is something that has multiple meanings, and it’s one that’s known for the energizing, uplifting, and highs that are creative in a sense.

This is also something that’s known for looking thin and tall, and it’s got wispy leaves. It’s traced back to southern climates that are warm, since the more sunshine, the temperatures that are warmer, and summers which are longer are helping to achieve the proper growth for a plant.

Indica Origins

Indica is something that isn’t seen around the globe, but it was found particularly in the mountainous regions of the middle east, especially Pakistan and Afghanistan. It can be said though that the origins of all cannabis come from indica strains here.

This one comes with leaves which are broad, a stature which is short, and flowers that are dense. It’s something that still actually is related to the place it got cultivated from, and today’s names still pay homage.

Terroir

This is a recent kind of strain of marijuana that’s recently shown up. It’s pretty much related to the Durban poison, Thai, and the Acapulco gold strains, and this is something that’s changed because of the different practices and environments that are specific to these locations and are influenced by the characteristics that are unique to this, and there is a certain appearance along with chemistry that’s particular to this.

This is something that’s kind of similar to the wines that you see, and this is basically similar to how alcohol strains have different characteristics, such as French wines having certain tastes.

Do landrace strains still exist?

Well, it wasn’t until people started mixing the Indica sativa strains together that hybrids came around. However, by creating this, it caused a plant to hold both of these strains, and it basically got rid of those characteristics that people don’t want from this.

In the current growing climate, hybrids are more of a norm than ever before. Rather than purely sativa or purely indica, a lot of consumers prefer the hybrid from the landrace types instead of just one that’s pure, and this is definitely something that’s cool. It does vary, and a lot of people like the options, but do note that you have a lot to choose from.
